Well Regardless of what was mentioned b4, i jsut got an email stating my Projector headlights shipped. Ordered them about a week and a half ago. incase your wondering what those are they are the same headlights that mark has. The only diff is im gonna get the HID kit.

So Brian, i have completed my PARTS buying until after i decide to paint the R or not when i come home. So on a side note, i found out that houses in Dallas/Fort Worth can be bought (brians size dwelling) for around 55K. Much to my shock, these arent forclosed or POS's....just smaller houses. Makes CT look expensive..OHWAIT.

Yeah texas is cheap. Anywhere down south for that matter... Plus no property tax.

Ellery, you have nothing to prove to me buddy. I'm glad you paid off your credit card and I hope everything works out for you. I just want to make sure you are really thinking about this and not just getting caught up in the moment.

It happens to everyone and I'll point myself out on two different occasions.
1) When I decided to spray paint my front grill. Stupidest fucking thing I've ever done. It's a $25k brand new car and I took a rattle can to it. Not to mention my front stripe broke, the paint ran and it looked like fucking ass. I should have just bought a new grill with no holes instead of trying to plug my own. I was caught up in the hype of having a new car and everyone saying you can just fill it and spray it and it'll be fine.

2) When I was building my fire pit. I was so pumped up to finally build something that I wanted for pleasure (not house related). I completely ignored my parents advice to research the bricks and mortar situation. I figured bricks could withstand the heat and I'd have no problems. Well, right after my first fire, every mortar line was cracked and bricks were falling out. I took the cheap way out and it fucked me. I had to take apart the whole inside and purchase fire bricks and fire mortar. If I just took the time to think about it before hand and not rush into it, I could have saved a lot of money and time... good thing I had a fire before putting my $200 blue stone slab top on it, b/c I'd be even more fucked.

Dude, I know you're pumped about your car finally being driveable and I want you to do whatever you want, just think about consequences. The paint job is only, what? $2k? maybe less, idk. The turbo build is going to be expensive. Why not get the paint job first and then save for the turbo?

Also, yes... Texas is cheap and I'm sure you can get a house cheap but there's a reason it's cheap. I know there are tons of communities that were built up when the market was good and now everyone is having trouble selling them. If you want to move into a neighborhood and maybe have 5 neighbors total with empty lots all over the place, then good luck. Everything is relative too... it may be cheap down there but you also dont get paid as much as the northeast. Talk to Mike if you're serious about moving, see how he likes it... starting over in a new state.

Good luck Ellery, you have a lot of time to think about it and I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you do. Don't let me sway what you do, do it because you want to, I'm just playing devil's advocate.

i was commenting on the price because i couldnt believe it and iw as being sarcastic, i know what ur trying to get at. I was stupd for trading the GTI for FINANCIAL reasons. not to mention an R32 is a money pit, haha. But i wouldnt do anything huge that would put me in another rut.

I am going to take your advice though and jsut finish the R32 before i embark on any more projects that require me to sell a kidney. And id only move out of CT for a really good job or perhaps for a smokin hot rich girl...Not Sayin, Just Sayin.

i'm glad you're waiting. did you pay off the car yet? wait to do anything major until then. yeah it's a large sum up front, but it'll free up $300-400(or whatever your payment is) a month. i'd hate to see something happwn that made the car undriveable, while you were still making payments on it. no offense to bruce, but ask him how crappy that feels. it's why he hates his car so much aside from the ongoing problems. idk the day i sent my remaining balance check was a day of great relief. i could have blown it all on some stupid shit i didn't need, but i did the smart thing and paid it off. i have an extra $308.52 per month now. paint it and call it a day for awhile.

sorry Ellery..i didnt know u pay so much just for a car payment and u had problems with payments before.. thats way too much + insurance ,,damn
i was just trying to say.. its smart pay car in full or asap, but new car or barely used..
but why pay if u have chance for payments and make your car something for fun and enjoy 100%, not just from A to B

i'm not expert about loans but Kyle did u pay less than your monthly payments were together until paying off?
or theres % rate from the bank and u cant change the final price?

i accept ..i was wrong what i wrote... Brian u really surprised me.. your parents must be proud of u.. idk u too much and i'm glad i know more now..

i pay for my own house in europe couple years.// thats why i came here// working 6-7 days every week and sending money every month.. but i'm 30 this year..hahaha thats why

but couple years ago i didnt save absolutely nothing and everything was just for fun and stupid things but i enjoyed every day and i'm happy about that..no matters whats that.. cars, girls, bars because later u find out .. damn i'm old for doing this and this

wanna say Ellery..save money for Bank,, for the payments.. to be sure u are ok for year or little less .. and make money ,, enjoy your life... buy turbo.. paint car .. have fun about that . with no worries..like damn i paid off my car and i dont have money for gas to drive it..
*gas-i mean everything what your car need..no money for maintenance and some unexpected problems and no way to give yourself a "gift" to be happy with
:handshake:

if you pay it off early, you save on the interest each month that is added onto your payment. monthly payment on your car + monthly interest = how much you get billed each month.

i'm going to use fairly round numbers to keep it simple. and i forget all the exact terms for this stuff, so bear with me.

say you owe $10,000 on your car for another 36 months(3 years).
if you decide to pay it off today, you pay $10,000.

if not...
that's $277.77 per month without interest.
say your interest rate is 5%.
that's $13.88 each month added on.
for a total of $291.65 each month.
and a total payment over those 3 years of $10,499.40.

so it's basically $500 more. you might think $500 isn't a big deal, but it is. if you have the money, pay off your car early. and the earlier you pay it off, the more you save. at least put in a bit more than you owe each month. if it's $300 a month, put in $320. or $340 if you can. and if you pay off loans early, it will reflect well on your credit score.

Yes, i still owe on the Car, and Kyle, this was my first thought and i agree with you. Im gonna keep paying on it till i get back and then see what i owe. Mario i never had payment issues with the R, just the fact that i pay a good chunk over month for the car, haha.

If i dont spend a dime in the next 3 months, ill be able to pay off the R32 and still have a good chunk in the bank.

great u rich bitch..lol,, so u can probably pay for the car and paint.. amazing
Not a fan where u make money but glad u r financially independent

its funny how this thread turned out but i thought u r holding with paint for now because u dont have extra 1800 and money for turbo upgrade , but glad we totally changed this theme to best solutions.. lol

so guys r right.. get off the loan.. because i see u have different plans in near future.. house etc..no more bitches and turbos and this changes everything... but fuck u with texas
i think its very fun but stupid take your car like your priority.. its ok like hobby after everything else is "money" covered..car is the worst investment ever...lol.. might very old cars and = money , but thats not our situation
in your position... ill make how much i can there.. than find a regular job// stay there couple months and see whats going on.. . find nice house in great CT state ..lol.. sell your car , buy ford focus sedan or something cheap.. change your policy from expensive R to cheaper sedans / from full coverage to basic and save 60% off the policy.
.work , work and again fucken work , pay your house and be happy.. thats what i will do

or dont talk about "standard" house anymore // buy turbo.. paint your car ...be boss nigga.. and buy house in alaska.. i think u can find something real cheap there
Amen
we can talk about something else from now..
